For my independent i plan on doing the same thing as i did in first semester. I plan on continuing the training of my guide dog puppy.
(2) Describe in detail how you think your plan will meet the 30 hours work requirement.
I will meet my 30 hour requirement because i have my puppy with me everyday and everyday i have to train her.
(3) How does your independent study component relate to your EQ?
My independent component relates to my EQ because my EQ is, "What is the best way to raise and train a guide dog", since i have my guide dog puppy at my home, i am completing the raising and training sections in my EQ.

Blog 15: Independent Component 1
Literal
(a) Statement saying: “I, student name, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents 30 hours of work.”
(b) Explanation of what you completed.
(A) I, Tanya Figueroa, affirm that i completed my independent component which represents 30 hours of work.
(B) For my independent component i have completed the required 30 hours by training my guide dog puppy. During the 30 hours i have taught my puppy sit, how to kennel up and to respond to her name, lately i have been introducing new commands such as; down, leave it and quiet.
Interpretive
Defend your work and explain how the significant parts of your component and how it demonstrates 30 hours of work.
I can prove that i have worked 30+ because i have successfully taught my puppy, Havana, sit and her name. No matter what Havana is doing or distracted by i can just say "Havana sit" and she will respond in less then 20 seconds. With teaching Havana her name it was trickier because i had to make her only look at me when i say "Havana" but come to me when i say "Havana come".

My independent component helps to answer my EQ by addressing the raising and training section in my EQ. Since my puppy is living with me i am basically her mom, i groom, feed and take care of her every need. As a requirement in receiving my puppy, from GDA, i must train her on a daily basis.
By having her in my house and training her, i get a first hand experience on what it takes to train a puppy instead of just reading on how much work and dedication it takes.
